Editors Notes – Winter 2016

with No Comments

As always, where do I start? This issue saw myself on a bit of an interior design adventure. My friend Chrissy Cottrell, top Vancouver interior designer, introduced me to a couple of design professionals that are adding a unique platform to the interior design industry that will ultimately allow many more people to get access to great ideas without having to empty their bank accounts. Check out the article I wrote about them for this issues Design Forum on page 10.

Winter issue also saw the introduction of The Spice Rack. This two page spread delves into some very cool spices and sauces … the ones you don’t find in Safeway. Not to worry, I made sure to note where to get them.   Research these warm and wonderful recipe additions on page 18.

Due to the overwhelming popularity we have decided to make our Focus on Light section a permanent fixture to the magazine (get it? :).   I had no idea, until sitting down with Stefanie Neal at Norburn, that there are so many beautiful lighting fixtures! Do yourself another favour and check out this section that also contains an interview with Stefanie on page 26. Our Faucet Focus this issue is on page 44 and delves into the amazing world of Riobel faucets. These taps are more art than hardware!

Glenn will probably talk more about this but I am OVERWHELMED with the response to our online prize draws. We now have so many great prizes being given out, so go to our site and enter!

Well, I have to say that this issue was as crazy hectic as most. But equally satisfying and a challenge as always.   I hope for you, my readers, that you thoroughly enjoyed our Winter Issue. Thank-you for your ongoing enthusiasm and support where our magazine is concerned. And please continue to contact us via our web site for inspiration!

If you haven’t read previous issues let me tell you a little about my role here, I’m the computer guy who develops our web site and a photographer as Stephen is … Stephen photographs the beautiful homes you will find here and I handle the special events and studio photography.

As Stephen mentioned above, our draws are growing! Not only in the number of entries we are receiving, but in the number and value of items we are giving away. Big thanks out to all of you who are entering and of course our sponsors. We’ve currently got thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes to give away – gourmet cooking classes, beautiful lamps, barbecues, a picnic backpack with wine, as well as gift certificates for Bosa foods, Edible Arrangements and The Ensuite! So take some time and check them out. You can enter them from the home page of our web site, or right here.

Until next time, see you on-line!
